QA Test Engineer (Manual Tester)

Overview

The Digital Solutions Systems and Test Engineering team is looking for talented Manual QA Testers who are passionate about tackling challenging features and interesting problems at scale. You'll be working with a team of highly motivated and fast-moving professionals focused on testing new and existing backend/frontend features/functionality for our products.

Current technology stack:

Web Apps: React, Apollo Client, Java, GraphQL API, RestFul API, Elastic App Search

Internal Mobile Apps: ReactNative, Apollo Client, GraphQL API, RestFul API

Internal Api’s and Core Services: Graph QL, Express (Rest API), Node.js, Docker, Sprint Boot (Framework), JPA/Hibernate (ORM), Liquidbase (DB Migrations), Java and Docker

Eclipse Connector Service: ASP.net WebAPI 2, .NET framework 4.6,  Windows Service Core 2019 and EC2

Search ETL: AWS Lamba, Step Functions, and Node.js

Infrastructure:  Terraform and AWS config, Kubernates Core Services Orchestration,, EKS, Fargate (serverless Kubernates workers) and Helm

Software CM, CI/CD:  GitHub, Circle CI, Octopus

Responsibilities

  • Develop test procedures for Web and Mobile (iOS and Android) applications
  • Design and execute test cases for feature, performance, and regression testing
  • Implement testing goals and strategies
  • Work closely with development team and product manager to ensure the quality of a product
  • Create and manage detailed bug reports
  • Setup smoke/acceptance testing, feature testing, and regression testing
  • Communicate defect issues to the development team.
  • Actively participate in daily stand-up meetings with the project team for daily status updates.
  • Escalate and complete all assigned QA processes and deliverables.
  • Participate in peer reviews of project documentation as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's?degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • 5 years of experience with QA methodologies and software testing
  • Develop manual test scripts & test cases
  • Maintain a set of manual test scripts
  • Execute manual test scripts on various applications
  • Identify manual regression tests and execute manual Build Verification testing
  • Execute and evaluate manual or automated test cases and report test results
  • Prepare test reports to summarize test results
  • Identifying test scenarios and developing test cases
  • Becoming an expert at manual QA
  • Creating test plans, writing and executing manual/automated test scripts, creating test data, test procedures, and triaging defects
  • Perform software and system verification and validation testing with application of both manual test and automated test tools
  • Establish, update/change manual testing requirements and procedures
  • Execute test cases according the approved test plan
  • Running test scripts and test cases from scratch
  • Write and maintain test plans and test cases
  • Knowledge of JIRA, Confluence and test case management systems
  • Broad experience in development methodologies: Agile (Scrum).
  • Strong Communication skills (Written and Verbal)

  • During COVID Employees will be working from home until the business determines the date to return to the office

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with TestRail
  • Experience in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Certification as an ISTQB Certified Tester or a CSTE certified software tester
