Job Expectations

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sales
    • You advise and recommend options to the customer based on company value propositions.
    • You identify key growth opportunities in products and services by analyzing and forecasting customer needs.
    • You will partner with Outside Sales to drive revenue including quotations, placing orders, checking stock, checking prices and assisting in problem resolution
    • You will generate new and repeat sales by educating customers about terminology, features and benefits of products to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction
    • You will accurately process customer transactions such as providing pricing or quotes, taking orders or managing returns
    • You will proactively recommend items needed by the customer to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability
    • You will increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering promotional sale items
    • You will work with walk-in customers regarding questions on orders, quotes and/or job specifications
    • You will maintain active and proactive customer relationship to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any complaints
  • Customer Focus
    • You will work closely with vendors to make sure product shipment /delivery dates are adhered to and communicate changes appropriately to the customer
    • You will contact customers following sales to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any complaints.
    • You will assist with Counter Sales when necessary
  • Administrative
    • You will be responsible for working within a best-practices role in order entry, procurement and order management.
    • You will utilize all tools available to provide your customers an exceptional experience in service and delivery, including managing call queues, order queues, tag and hold and bill and hold inventories.
    • You will provide timely and accurate data entry of sales orders and/or purchase orders into the ERP system.
    • You will assist with take offs, enter bids and process submittals as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

  • High School education or equivalent
  • College degree preferred
  • Minimum 1 - 3 - years’ in a related wholesale distribution business with plumbing industry knowledge and experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Must be self-motivated, including providing attention to detail with ability to focus and multi-task in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
  • Strong computer skills including use of Microsoft Excel and Word; previous experience with an ERP system (i.e. Eclipse, Mincron) is an asset
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills required
  • Must have excellent customer service skills with the ability to sell product to a wide range of customers both in-person and by phone
  • Must be able to work positively within a team environment
  • Must be able to learn quickly and have a desire to succeed
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify solutions with minimal assistance
  • Must present a professional image at all times to customers and vendors
  • Regular, timely attendance is required to meet customer needs in an efficient and effective manner
