Assistant Branch Manager - Fortiline

The purpose of the Assistant Branch Manager is to assist in managing an efficient and profitable branch by supervising the day- to -day operations and employees.

Job Expectations

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Branch Manager and Outside Sales Representatives to determine appropriate products needed for customer jobs, generating sales, and processing sales transactions
  • Assist in management of the branch and branch personnel - Warehouse Associates, Drivers, Inside Sales and Administrative Support
  • On a daily basis review and react appropriately to the following reports or others that may be assigned:
  • Open order reports
  • Cash reconciliation
  • Petty cash and cash drawer
  • Manual ticket reconciliation
  • AP to PO variance report
  • Cycle count, variance report and/or inventory adjustments
  • Negative on hand and zero WAC
  • Edit list
  • Invoice register
  • Pricing and problem hold sales orders
  • Credit memo’s
  • Voided pick tickets
  • Expense reports
  • Maintain employee time records
  • Oversee turnover rate and inventory levels, maintain appropriate balance of fast/slow moving items and accurately use purchase order system
  • Oversee cycle counts to ensure accuracy of reports and goals are met
  • Monitor revenue and expense accounts on an ongoing basis
  • Monitor the purchasing and sales functions of the branch
  • Maintain reporting systems required by corporate management
  • Oversee efficiency in the layout of the warehouse by evaluating binning and stocking methods
  • Determine staffing requirements
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements
  • Knowledge of CDL rules and requirements
  • Oversee all aspects of loading trucks
  • Monitor work areas and customer areas to ensure cleanliness, and maintain a cohesive workplace among employees
  • Oversee all building and grounds maintenance; oversee maintenance on all company trucks and forklifts
  • Analyze and eliminate practices that waste supplies, utilities, space and time
  • Report to management any circumstances that compromise the integrity of Fortiline Waterworks, Inc.
  • Attend manager's meetings as requested
  • Attend continuing education classes and University of Fortiline sessions when assigned
  • Assist with take offs and process submittals as needed
  • Maintain strong working relationships with vendors and customers, and provide product and technical information
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Experience/Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence 
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of Fortiline Waterworks, Inc.
  • Basic to intermediate math skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Proficient in Mincron and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Safe operation of a forklift
  • Minimum of 3 years industry experience
  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory/leadership experience

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Typical office and warehouse (inside/outside) environment - moderate noise level
  • Regularly requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, use of hands, and reaching
  • Requires some stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling 
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent
